Water Gardens Tour

We are proud to show you our water gardens, they really are spectacular.

Pond #1 is set in a sandy landscape with cactii. A depth of 3½ feet for a capacity of around 3,500 gallons is ideal for viewing some of our most promising tategoi specimen. The waterfall feature was built by spraying cement over chicken wiring attached to a wooden frame.
Pond #2 has a Japanese style and is surrounded by large boulders. The waterfall is quite elaborate with several waterways, one of which feeds four connecting flower ponds (see next picture). The pond is 2½ feet deep and 2,400 gallons. Here you can see some exceptional goldfish.
This a view between Pond #2 and Pond #3, showing the flow of mini flower ponds. In the spring, water lilies and a number of other water plants enhance this beautiful area.
Here you see pond #3. The photo is old though. We are currently renovating this pond. When completed, it will show a new and affordable concrete sealer and a filtration system of our own design. The pond is 3½ feet deep for a capacity of about 3,500 gallons.
Pond #4 is a formal English stype design. It has a depth of 4 feet and a capacity reaching on 4,400 gallons. Here you can see our female koi over 2 years of age.
Pond #5 features a waterfall contructed with Oregon Moss Rock, so called because moss adheres easily to it. The resulting look is very country-style. Here we house our male koi and promising nisai specimen. The depth is 3½ feet for a capacity of 3,900 gallons.
A basalt rock waterfall decorates pond #6, another natural look. Here we house our “special” yearlings, some of which, such as our Doitsu Chagoi, are over 15" already! The pond has a depth of 4½ feet and a capacity around 4,100 gallons.
In pond #7 we show our most affordable nisai. The pond is 4 feet deep with a capacity of 5,000 gallons. A jet water stream provides a lot of oxygen (and a place for the fish to play).
Pond #8 is where we show some of our most promising koi in a very low load and large capacity pond. It is 4 feet deep for a capacity of over 8,600 gallons. Two 6,000 gph jets encourage them to exercise regularly (and they do).
Pond #9 is 4 feet deep and has a capacity of 3,400 gallons. This pond is also being renovated.
Pond #10 is the deepest: 6 feet, and has a capacity of 10,500 gallons. This pond will soon be equipped with our Vortex filtration system for large capacity ponds.
